Rohde & Liesenfeld wins 5 year contract with BP
Rohde & Liesenfeld has won a new 5 year logistics contract with British Petroleum. Rohde & Liesenfeld, a German-based provider for worldwide general cargo system business and logistic solutions will be in charge of the logistics for the energy group BP in Colombia for the next 5 years. This new contract involves the management of the overall subcontracting of material for all locations of BP in this country.
R&L is the first international company at all to cover the entire supply chain of the raw material market. To especially support this project, a consortium was put in place: TISAT - Transport International Servicio Aduanera Transporte-Terrestre. Besides R&L, a national colombian forwarder, Mamut Colombia and the customs agent SIA Aduanas Gama will act under the roof of TISAT.
The contract with BP includes the organisation and processing of international transports, the maintenance of parts for oil conveying machineries, customs handling, storage, packaging and distribution to the appropriate sites.
Furthermore, R&L offers an electronic order management system which is accessible from both sides and therefore guarantees maximum transparency throughout the complete process.
R&L is also expected to manage complex project business for BP Colombia. R&L has an excellect reputation for XXL-transports – such as steel plants and mechanical engineering plants – also and especially within regions of rather difficult infrastructure and requesting particular safety regulations as in Colombia.
